After Cosmetic Surgery | Fitness and Beauty Tips

Cosmetic SurgeryYou have to understand that follow-up treatments are highly necessary to accommodate the possible existence of side effects after cosmetic surgery. The doctors will tell you different factors that determine the follow-up procedures necessary based on your personal data and any underlying medical condition. In many cases, some common factors such as age, lifestyle, and the type of cosmetic surgery you have done will be the main considerations. Indeed, almost all surgery will need follow-up treatments to bring the optimum results. Especially after cosmetic surgery, doctors and the patients will want to make sure that the results from the treatment will last longer and possibly for life.

Follow-Up Care after Cosmetic Surgery

You need to work closely with the doctors before and after cosmetic surgery. You have to understand the risk, the cost, and of course, the side effects. In terms of side effects, doctors will prescribe some medications or drugs to help you recover your fitness quickly. Normally, doctors will also recommend staying in a complete rest without any activity that can cause bleeding, swelling, or depending on the type of cosmetic surgery, anything that will probably tear the stitches. You may need a week or more to heal and have your stitches out.

Once again, depending on the procedures that have been done during the cosmetic surgery, the period of the recovery process or the length of time that you can see optimum result is different. Your doctors will inform you about the follow-up treatments necessary as well. However, patients must ask basic questions related to after cosmetic surgery follow up treatments. How long will the surgery last? Will you need to return for additional injections if you have had injections? Alternatively, how often you will have to return for treatments. Is there any additional surgery necessary? If you have had a face-lift, neck lift, or any facial work, will you have to have them again? What about your health insurance and your premiums, will the surgery affect these issues?

Many times, you also need to consult lawyers as well in order to understand the legal issues related to the insurance policies that you have.

Hiding Surgery Results

Normally, you cannot see the results after cosmetic surgery in an instant. The period of the healing procedures of the scars or side effects from the treatments may be a week or more depending on the types of surgical operation that you have had. If you want, you can cover, hide, or camouflage the swelling, bruises, or scars with cosmetics. Your doctors should be able to tell what kinds of cosmetic to use. Cosmetic can cover the bruises perfectly, but on the other hand, they can affect the length of time required for recovery process. You should remember is that some types of cosmetics are not very friendly to the skins especially after cosmetic surgery. In many cases, you need to clean up the cosmetics very carefully to make sure that the recovery process can go naturally. Clean the cosmetics at night or anytime you need to go to bed.

Consult doctors, professionals and dermatologist to determine the best follow-up treatment after cosmetic surgery to get optimum results. If you do the suggestions and recommendations from the licensed professionals properly, you get big possibility that the results last longer even for life.

How to enable or disable FaceTime over cellular on iPhone and iPad

How to enable or disable FaceTime over cellular on iPhone and iPad

FaceTime is a great tool for video chatting but can also use a lot of data. If you've got a limited data plan, you can quickly blow through it if you're using FaceTime too much over the cellular network. If you're worried about receiving calls and eating through your data plan faster than you'd like, you can disable FaceTime over cellular so you'll only receive FaceTime calls when connected to WiFi.

Here's how.

  1. Launch the Settings app from the Home screen of your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap on FaceTime.
  3. Scroll all the way to the bottom and you'll see an option for Use Cellular Data. Tap the slider to turn it to Off.

That's it. You now won't receive FaceTime calls if you aren't on a WiFi network. You can enable this feature again at any time but just turning the option to On again.

Arab spring rappers blast 'thieves of the revolution' | Morocco World ...

Sitting on the fringes of upheaval in the Middle East, Lebanon?s capital Beirut has become the scene of experimental music-making by Khat Thaleth, a group of rappers out to take the revolts that started during the Arab Spring to the next level. The collective has members from around the region ? ranging from Tunisia, birthplace of the Arab uprising, to the Palestinian refugee camps of Lebanon ? and vocalizes the realities of a new generation carrying the baggage of the past.

Khat Thaleth literally means ?Third Track,? a metaphor for an alternative take on the polarized societies and politics of the region, and a reference to the Hijaz Muslim pilgrimage railway which once connected the Arab world. ?We?re not doing rap. This is not the same as American or French music; it has to do with our culture, our history,? said al Sayyed Darwish, a member of the Syrian trio LaTlateh.

The 24-year-old from Homs, known as the capital of the Syrian revolution, said the protests which have swept the Middle Eastern region since 2010 lit the fuse for the collaboration which he describes as ?a first of its kind.? ?People and the street are so far ahead of us? We need to catch up with them,? Darwish told AFP.

Raw poetry depicting real life

As Syrian hip-hop developed alongside the nearly two-year-old revolt against the regime, ?people started to listen? and it became more direct,? he said. On the morning of a concert in early February to plug the rappers? album release, Darwish said he was well aware that much of the audience would be expecting the Syrian rappers to speak of the struggle in their country. ?It?s a big responsibility that you have 250 people (at) a concert,? he said. ?And they are expecting you to give them something to relieve them? So it?s a big responsibility, a big pleasure and a big honor for me to be a representative for my people and my revolution.?

Though the Khat Thaleth artists come from similar backgrounds, they do not shrink from belting out sharply divergent views ? even on the same track. On ?Souret Soureya? (Verse of Syria), el-Rass, who hails from the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli, goes head-to-head with Paris-based Lebanese artist Hamourabi on the Syrian revolt. ?El Rass is talking about the revolution and how the rebels are moving, and Hamourabi is saying they are terrorists and it?s a conspiracy? yet ?they are on the same track, and it?s great to have this diversity,? said Darwish. ?We would love to show people that you don?t have to kill each other for having different points of view.?

And those points of view cover some big subjects. In the song ?E-stichrak? (Orientalism) ? borrowing the title of the Edward Said book that said Western caricatures of Islamic culture were used to justify colonialism ? el-Rass and el- Faraai, a Palestinian-Jordanian, bemoan a modern form of imperialism. ?They brought the dumbest American to come teach me my human rights? while a Sudanese engineer gets stopped at the border and thrown in a cell,? the lyrics go.

Darwish and veteran Palestinian rapper Tamer Naffar, meanwhile, together criticize the stale anti-Western rhetoric of Arab regimes on the track ?Kursi Aatiraf? (Interrogation Chair). They rap: ?Don?t keep telling me about the colonizers and occupiers. Look how (well) they treat each other, the ones you despise. Then look how we deal with each other and start to be jealous.?

Thieves of the revolution

The raw poetry of the young rappers has earned them a devoted audience since the start of the project in March 2012.At the concert, fans say the artists get right to the heart of the issue.

?They speak about the pulse of the street and social themes? Their goal is to better the current situation,? said 29-year-old Hassan, a videographer.

?French rap or American rap doesn?t talk to me or represent what I feel or live. But when I heard Arabic rap, it really spoke to me,? said Mira Minkara, a manager at the Beirut Arts Centre. Chef Mohammed Sayyed said he went to the concert to hear the rappers take on current events in the region.

?They sing about our fears, about the politics, the things we always think about ? they are the ones who say it out loud,? said the 26-year-old.

As they perform ?Min al-Awwal? (From the Start), the Touffar duo from Lebanon?s Bekaa Valley warn the audience not to be complacent about change the Arab revolution has brought. ?There are thieves making a living from the revolution, and other thieves waiting in line. The victory of the revolution takes two revolutions: One against the regime strangling freedom, another against those awaiting its victory to steal,? they blast.

Knicks overcome Curry's 54 to beat Warriors

NEW YORK (AP) ? Stephen Curry rose for another jumper, and by then even the Knicks probably figured it would go in.

Curry had hardly missed in a scintillating second half of the NBA's most electric performance this season, the crowd cheering even before the ball left his hands.

This time, Raymond Felton jumped with him, making the play New York needed to finally withstand Curry.

Felton's blocked shot led to J.R. Smith's tiebreaking basket with 1:10 left, and the Knicks overcame Curry's NBA season-high 54 points to beat the Golden State Warriors 109-105 on Wednesday night.

Curry was 18 of 28 from the field, finishing one shy of the NBA record with 11 3-pointers in 13 attempts, in a performance that had the crowd hanging on his every shot. But the Knicks and Felton finally stopped him with 1:28 to play and the score tied at 105.

"My main thing is to keep playing. Like I said, once a guy gets it going like that, there's nothing I can really do. I've still got to stay in my mindset, still play my game, and I was still able to come up with some big plays at the end," Felton said. "We all came up with some big plays to get that win."

Carmelo Anthony followed Smith's basket with another one and the Knicks hung on to spoil former Knicks star and Warriors coach Mark Jackson's homecoming.

Anthony finished with 35 points and Smith had 26.

"We made the defensive stops we needed to make down the stretch," Knicks coach Mike Woodson said.

Playing all 48 minutes, Curry finished with seven assists and six rebounds while passing his previous career best of 42 points, and Kevin Durant's 52-point performance that had been the best in the NBA this season.

"I felt good all night. Obviously played the whole game, so was just trying to keep my legs underneath me on the offensive end, and you know, just stick to the game on the defensive end," Curry said. "Once I started seeing that 3-ball go down in transition, all sorts of spots on the floor, I knew it was going to be a good night."

But he had little help without All-Star forward David Lee, who was suspended one game for his role in an altercation Tuesday night in Indiana.

Tyson Chandler had 16 points and a career-best 28 rebounds for the Knicks, who won their second straight after a season-high, four-game losing streak. Amare Stoudemire had 14 points and Anthony added eight assists on the day the Knicks learned they could be without reserve forward Rasheed Wallace for the rest of the season because he needs surgery to repair a broken bone in his left foot.

Strutting all over the court whenever one of his 3s swished easily through the nets, Curry easily blew past the 38 points he scored Tuesday in Indiana, which had been his best of the season. That was spoiled when he was fined $35,000 for his role in the skirmish, which was essentially getting thrown to the ground by Roy Hibbert when he tried to intervene.

This performance ? the most points by an NBA player in a loss since Kobe Bryant had 58 in a loss to Charlotte on Dec. 29, 2006 ? was spoiled along with Jackson's trip back to his old home because of a few mistakes down the stretch.

Curry threw away a pass on the break with 3:13 left, and Jarrett Jack was called for a travel following Smith's go-ahead basket.

Plus, Klay Thompson finished 3 of 13 from the field, missing two straight from deep in the final minute.

Jackson, who grew up in Brooklyn and starred at St. John's before being drafted by the Knicks in 1987, didn't get a chance to coach here last season as an NBA rookie on the bench because of the lockout. He brought his wife, Desiree, to a road game for the first time this season, had his mother in the stands, and got a chance to see people he remembered from playing here years earlier.

He said he hadn't gotten to look ahead much to the game because of the schedule, but clearly enjoyed being back in Madison Square Garden once the day did arrive.

"This is a special place and it was part of my dreams as a kid," he said.

His night turned into Curry's, fans cheering even before the ball left his hand in the second half.

"We were short-handed and we needed a performance like that to have a chance," Jackson said. "He put on a clinic. Knocked down shots. Made plays. Carried us. Led us in rebounding. He did it all. I've seen a lot of great performances in this building and his goes up there. I've seen a lot. I've seen a lot, but that shooting performance was a thing of beauty."

The Knicks, who hadn't played since Sunday, looked ready to blow the Warriors out early, taking a 25-11 lead that the Warriors trimmed to 27-18 at the end of the first period before surging ahead behind Curry.

He scored 12 straight Golden State points, cutting it to 35-34 with his third 3-pointer of the second quarter. He followed Richard Jefferson's 3 with another one, giving the Warriors a 40-37 advantage. The Knicks recovered and went back ahead by nine late in the period before Curry answered with six consecutive points, and New York's lead was 58-55 at the break.

"He's a special young player with a very unique talent," Chandler said. "We ran everything at him. He just got hot. There was some shots that he couldn't have seen the rim."

Curry's drive gave the Warriors a two-point lead three minutes into the third quarter, but he didn't score again until hitting a turnaround 3 from 27 feet with 5 seconds left in the period, giving him 38 points again and cutting New York's lead to 84-81.

Already without Andrew Bogut because of a back injury, the Warriors had little size without Lee. Their lineup at one point in the second quarter had nobody taller than 6-foot-9 and Chandler simply climbed over them all night.

He came in leading the league with 4.4 offensive rebounds per game, and grabbed 13 boards in the first quarter alone.

Notes: Chandler was also the last NBA player to grab 13 rebounds in one quarter, hauling in 14 in the third quarter for Dallas on Dec. 1, 2010. ... Wallace, who hasn't played since December, will have surgery this week and the expected recovery time is eight weeks. Woodson said he didn't plan to waive the 38-year-old forward and create a roster spot, instead hoping he could be able to play in the postseason. ... Kenyon Martin, signed last week in part because of the uncertainty around Wallace, made his Knicks debut and was scoreless in 5 first-half minutes.

Latest ATM technology to be in focus at Airport Show-2013 - AME Info

The Middle East airlines are expected to experience the highest growth in passenger traffic at 5.8% per annum through to the year 2025, compared to the world average of 4.6%.

The total aircraft movements to/from and within the Middle East region are estimated to increase to 2,346,000 in 2025 at an average annual growth rate of 7.6%. While aircraft movements in the UAE witnessed 6.7% growth in 2012, there has been a 16.2% growth in the fleet of UAE-registered airlines/operators in the past 10 years.

According to industry experts, over 50% of Middle East's airline traffic and over 65% of business aviation traffic is concentrated in the GCC region.

The General Civil Aviation Authority's (GCAA) strategic plan notes that increasing demand for air travel will continue to challenge the efficiencies of the air traffic management system.

While the hub-and-spoke system will remain largely the same as today for major airline operations, the demand for more point-to-point service will create new markets and spur increases in low-cost carriers, air taxi operations, and on-demand services.

Additionally, the emergence of VLJ's (Very Large Jets) is expected to create new markets in the general and business aviation sectors for personal, air taxi, and point-to-point passenger operations. Many airports will thus experience significant increases in unscheduled traffic, while many airports that support scheduled air carrier traffic are forecast to grow and experience congestion or delays, if efforts to increase their capacity fall short. As a result, additional airspace flexibility will be necessary to accommodate not only the increasing growth, but also the increasing air traffic complexity.

Nearly 50% of the GCC airspace has some form of restriction, much of it military, denying commercial aircraft the use of the most efficient flight corridors, creating unnecessary added costs for airlines.

Aircraft have to follow a pre-determined route regardless of wind conditions, leading to unnecessary fuel consumption, excess carbon emissions, longer flight times, increased noise impact, flight delays and air traffic congestion. More than US$700 million is estimated to be the volume of investments in regional ATM upgrades, while equally significant investments in this segment are in the pipeline.

The UAE airspace is among the most important airspaces in the world due to its strategic location, in essence a link between East and West. The UAE has a total of 120,000 square kilometers of airspace, with 35 international air corridors.

GCAA and Airbus ProSky have recently signed an agreement for the UAE Airspace Enhancement programme, beginning this year. The UAE Flight Information Region (FIR) witnessed a total of 741,450 aircraft movements in 2012.

Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), said: "It is due to the rapid expansion of our national operators and the other regional carriers, with the limitations and the small size of the UAE airspace, and in addition to the overburdening regional constrains and restrictions in areas beyond the control of the UAE, we have delays and bottlenecks in the UAE FIR."

Mohammed Ahli, Director General of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), said: "In the past, most aviation congestion occurred on the ground. Today the biggest strategic challenge to growth of aviation is in the air. The development of two aerospaces is also under way. One of these will be within the GCC and the other will serve as an international aerospace."

Daniyal Qureshi, Show Director, The Airport Show, said: "Better management of the airspace is among the serious challenges that the aviation authorities face in their growth aspirations. Airspace reform in the region is overdue and requires a huge commitment from all the governments and stakeholders like ANSPs, airports and airlines. Current ATM systems are not able to keep up with demand and huge investments are needed."

The latest ATM solutions and systems will be on display at the Airport Show in Dubai from May 6 to 8. The 13th Airport Show will feature exhibitors specialising in ATC Towers, Mobile Control Towers, Communications, Data Processing Systems, Consoles, Enclosures, Landing Systems, Navigational Aids and Fleet Management.

Tony Tyler, CEO and Director General of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), said: "The Middle East region must avoid the inefficiencies that we see in Europe. In the Gulf, ATM delays are already nearing crisis levels. It would be a shame if the potential of the investment in ground infrastructure was held back by a lack of progress in the air. If congestion problems are allowed to grow they can quickly turn unmanageable. And the bigger they get, the more difficult the solution."

According to an Oxford Economics study, the Middle East region has 1029 aircraft in service, operated by 65 airlines from 70 commercial airports. The GCC region has 36 airports, including eight in the UAE. Emirates Airlines, Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways lead the pack and account for the vast majority of the new aircrafts ordered. Over the next five years, they are forecasted to increase capacity at more than 15% per annum, according to a study, Mastering the Challenges of The Middle East Aviation System, by Booz & Co. This means the GCC skies will get even more crowded.

According to GCAA, UAE FIR will have 895,468 flight movements in 2015, over 1.13 million flight movements by 2020 and 1.63 million flight movements by 2030. Capacity improvement of the UAE airspace was highlighted in a stakeholder study carried out by the GCAA, which says that growth in scheduled and general aviation aircraft is expected to increase point-to-point and direct routings.

According to Air Transport Action Group's recent study, Revolutionising Air Traffic Management, with 13 FIRs to manage, the Middle East ANSPs control more than 1.7 million movements between 15 international airports, as well as 700,000 movements between 45 domestic airports every year. The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) recommended that ANSPs modernize their infrastructure by investing in digital communications, surveillance and navigation (CNS) technology.

Salim Al-Aufi, CEO of Oman's Public Authority for Civil Aviation, said: "One of our main challenges is that our airspace is very congested. Today, we have five airspace sectors. Next year, we are going to open up two additional sectors. There will be a lot of demand for airspace and we are considering many options to help solve the issue."

In Bahrain, the aircraft movements recorded a 12% growth between 2003 and 2012, while it is expected to be around 11% between 2013 and 2022.

Fareed Al Alawi, Head of Air Traffic Operations at Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs, said: "A major obstacle to producing more en-route capacity is that the Middle East airspace has not yet been optimized. Civil-Military cooperation has become very important in the current aviation environment because of the continuous rapid growth in civil air traffic. Failure to add additional routes structures, particularly within the Bahrain FIR, will result in severe limitation in the ability to increase air traffic capacity."

The scenario is no different in other states like Saudi Arabia and Kuwait given the high growth being recorded in air travel volumes and expansion of airlines. Saudi Arabia is projected to have a combined future capacity of 140 million passengers each year, up from 54.5 million passengers in 2011. In Kuwait, there were 85,567 aircraft movements in 2012.

Giant Inflatable Colon Kicks Off Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month ...

Because March is?National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, Beaumont Health System is stepping up its community awareness efforts. To kick off the month, area residents and community groups are invited to see a large, inflatable human colon on display in the South Tower of Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak from?Feb. 27 to March 1.

Explains?Harry Wasvary, M.D., director,?Colorectal Multidisciplinary Tumor Clinic, Beaumont, Royal Oak, ?The giant colon is definitely unique. It grabs your attention. How often can people walk through a 20 foot long and 13 foot wide, inflatable colon complete with polyps? These are small growths or tumors within the colon that can enlarge and develop into colon cancers.?

According to the?American Cancer Society, colorectal cancer is one of only two cancers that can actually be prevented through screening. Colorectal cancer is cancer of the colon or rectum.

Adds Dr. Wasvary, ?We hope this display not only educates, but encourages those over 50 years of age to be screened regularly for colorectal cancer. ?

Among cancers that affect both men and women, colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that more than 140,000 Americans are diagnosed with colorectal cancer every year; and more than 50,000 of them die.

Mitchell Cappell, M.D., Ph.D., chief of Gastroenterology at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, says, ?If you are over 50 and never had a colonoscopy, you are overdue. After becoming 50, I had my first colonoscopy. The procedure was much easier and less stressful than I had anticipated.?

Colonoscopy?is a common, relatively safe, diagnostic procedure that allows physicians to examine the entire length of the large intestine or colon. It can assist in identifying problems within the colon, such as early signs of colorectal cancer, inflamed tissue, ulcers and bleeding. An endoscope ? a long, flexible, lighted tube, also called a colonoscope is used during the procedure. The scope can take tissue samples and remove abnormal growths known as polyps.

Alarmingly, colorectal cancer is often asymptomatic, meaning that individuals experience no noticeable symptoms.

Other awareness activities and events include:

Beaumont Health System?s multidisciplinary?cancer?and?digestive health?teams are comprised of highly-trained specialists using advanced technologies to screen, prevent, diagnose and treat colorectal cancer. The Beaumont Cancer Institute is one of only 49 Community Clinical Oncology Programs in the country designated by the National Cancer Institute to provide patients with access to leading-edge cancer clinical research trials. Beaumont has been ranked by?U.S. News & World Report?as among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for gastroenterology, 16 of the past 18 years.
